Don't worry, don't worry. Amtgard is 99% safe...enough so that people of all ages participate. If you want to fight, you must first sign a waiver (there's always that 1%).

They're not real swords, of course. The weapons are padded and checked by qualified reeves (aka umpires) before every battle.

There's several different ways to battle. Tournaments, one-on-one, and your basic blood bout where everyone is a part of it.
